Managing Consultant

 

The Role

The Managing Consultant will:

  • Support 50 Degrees’ clients with their business development requirements. This may include the development of their solution, their stakeholders/partners and/or their written submissions for contracts

  • Develop relationships with new clients and secure new business opportunities for 50 Degrees

The Managing Consultant will lead a team of subject matter experts and writers to provide one or more of the following:

  • Solution development facilitation

  • Bid management

  • Bid writing

  • Reviewing/storyboarding

  • Stakeholder engagement

  • Supply chain development

  • Research

The Managing Consultant will develop relationships with new business leads, including:

  • Networking/calls/events/meetings to develop leads

  • Developing proposals

  • Negotiating terms

The Managing Consultant will possess:

  • Wide experience of business development in public sector outsourcing

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent customer relationship building skills

  • Excellent personal, project management and presentation skills

  • A track record of securing high value contracts

  • Personal credibility, with strong networks in at least one sector (justice, welfare to work, home affairs, education, defence, healthcare and local government)

  • A commercial mind-set and the ability to influence others accordingly

  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for working in a small and dynamic organisation


Principal Consultant (Solution Development Lead)

 

The Role

The Principal Consultant will:

  • Enable 50 Degrees’ clients to develop clear and compelling solutions in response to commissioner requirements

  • Develop solutions into winning bid responses or proposals

The Principal Consultant will work with a team of subject matter experts and writers to provide one or more of the following:

  • Solution development facilitation

  • Bid management

  • Bid writing

  • Reviewing/storyboarding

  • Research

The Principal Consultant will possess:

  • A strong track record of complex solution development in public service delivery

  • In-depth understanding of contract structures, and experience developing solutions tailored to client need through ideas, initiatives and new approaches

  • Degree level (or equivalent) qualification

  • Demonstrable track record of writing winning bids

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent customer relationship building skills

  • Excellent personal, project management and presentation skills

  • A commercial mind-set, and the ability to influence others accordingly

  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for working in a small and dynamic organisation


Consultant
(Bid Writer)

 

The Role

The Consultant (Bid Writer) will:

  • Support 50 Degrees’ clients to develop and write high-quality, winning bid responses or proposals

The Consultant (Bid Writer) will work with a team of subject matter experts and writers to:

  • Write compelling, winning bids under the guidance of the Engagement Lead, drawing on a track record of producing high quality consistent bid responses

  • Analyse client requirements, including compliance and scoring

  • Help to identify win themes and story boarding to shape the content of responses

  • Access knowledge resources and input from subject matter experts and client internal teams to craft responses to specific questions, supported by evidence and case studies

  • Support bid production process

  • Manage and sustain resource/bid library through MS Sharepoint

The Consultant (Bid Writer) will possess:

  • Minimum three years of bid writing experience

  • Degree qualification (or equivalent)

  • Demonstrable track record of writing winning bids

  • Literacy in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Flexibility, calmness under pressure and the ability to take ownership

  • A thorough approach and keen attention to detail

  • A deadline focused and process orientated approach

  • Strong organisational skills and the capacity to take on a large volume of tasks

  • Commitment to seeing a task through from start to finish

  • Team skills, and a keenness to support others

  • Excellent personal, project management and presentation skills

  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for working in a small and dynamic organisation
