Bid Infographics

Creating innovative bid infographics to support a £250m+ bid for the delivery of a prison operator contract at a North West-based prison  

The client

50 Degrees was approached by an award winning, multi-billion-pound organisation specialising in the provision of high-quality facilities management, food, and prison operator services. Our client delivers a vast range of services across the public and private sectors, supporting office buildings, hospitals, schools, military bases, and prisons. Comprising c.30,000+ staff, our client delivers services across 2,000+ sites throughout the UK and Ireland. 

The challenge

As a bidding consultancy with a track-record of achieving successful tender results within the criminal justice sector, we were approached by our client to provide a range of bidding support services to enable the development of a tender for a prison operator contract in the North West. In addition to effectively articulating our client’s track record of success in the sector, it was critical that we effectively described our client’s vision for the future of the prison. This included transformational plans for the operational delivery model, impacting on all aspects of the prison and its regime.

As well as developing high-quality written content, we provided the client with a range of engaging and explanatory infographics that complemented delivery solutions across all aspects of a complex tender response. These inographics needed to remain consistent with the client’s branding (including font, style, and colour scheme) and align with the requirements and guidelines set out by the commissioner.  

What we did

In partnership with award-winning design consultancy, TDL-Creative, we created an extensive bank of high-quality, bespoke infographics and diagrams that were embedded within the written response. This included flow charts, individual customer journeys, complex organisational charts, and individual diagrams breaking down key solution details and processes. To create a bank of infographics that met (and exceeded) our client’s expectations, we delivered the following services: 

  • Project Kick Off and Management: including arranging and chairing a virtual meeting between the client and TDL-Creative to discuss required outcomes, expectations, agreed review process and key deadlines.

  • Communications Management: including providing regular updates to our client on expected completion times for individual infographics; collecting client feedback and sharing this with the appropriate TDL-Creative designer to update design accordingly; arranging additional meetings in the instances of a new brief or amended requirement.

  • Design Support: including mocking up skeleton drafts for key service delivery operations (based on client workshops and discussions with SMEs) to provide TDL-Creative with a clearer steer on design requirements, to ensure all infographics were optimised.
