Performance Improvement
Driving performance to meet commissioner and service-user requirements
The upcoming introduction of the Procurement Act will place a significant, further emphasis on performance management within public service programme delivery. Contracts worth in excess of £5 million will be required to have a minimum of three Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), which they will be stringently managed against.
The Cabinet Office has already begun the process of publishing performance data for their largest contracts to increase transparency and scrutiny.
Commissioners will now be able to use previous performance as a benchmark to measure a provider’s capability, and potentially exclude them from future procurements if they are deemed to have not met their KPIs.
The importance of Performance Improvement has never been greater.
