Supporting our client to bid for NHS Alternative Provider Medical Services delivery contracts

The client

An NHS alliance organisation, comprising a group of 31 GP Practices, providing a range of vital support services to primary care providers within their region. Our client is committed to supporting the sustainability of primary care provision, and improving health and social care outcomes for patients.

The challenge

Our client made the strategic decision to tender for the contract to provide Alternative Provider Medical Services in two Lot regions, within their geography. While our client undoubtedly had the requisite subject matter expertise to bid for (and deliver) this key service, they identified that they did not have the capacity or bid development specialism within their team to address a challenging set of submission criteria.

What we did

We delivered a comprehensive bid management and bid writing service, assuming accountability for all aspects of the tender development process, across both Lot regions. This included overseeing complex range of tender requirements spanning clinical governance; health promotion; disease prevention; health inequalities; partnership working; social value; mobilisation; and performance management.

In addition, through our specialist Commercial Lead, Zach Law, we delivered a review of the financial model submission, which was a key requirement of the overall tender response.

Our team of specialist bid writers, worked with nominated subject matter experts from within our client’s senior management and operational delivery teams to:

  • Identify and articulate key win themes to support consistent messaging across the tender

  • Design and develop delivery models and solutions that would add value across the bid, leveraging relevant experience within healthcare and related markets

  • Effectively describe delivery approaches and models through concise, compliant and compelling writing that stood out to evaluators

  • Deliver regular review and challenge sessions, to ensure that the tender response was optimised to meet all specification requirements

  • Deliver Quality Assurance across both Lot tenders, prior to submission, to ensure clarity, accuracy and that every detail was meticulous addressed
