Kathryn is a highly experienced researcher and evaluator with over 20 years’ experience of conducting research and evaluation in the education, skills, communities, and children and young people’s sectors. She has led large-scale research for clients including the Department for Education (DfE), the Welsh Assembly Government, and the Careers and Enterprise Company.

Kathryn is a mixed method research and evaluator. Her qualitative evaluation expertise is vast and includes observations, online forums, focus groups and one-to-one interviews with a range of respondent groups including learners, teachers, school leaders, children and young people, parents and carers, older people, local authority strategic and operational stakeholders, policy makers and hard-to-reach groups (NEETs, drug users, families with multiple and complex needs).

She has extensive experience of undertaking research in the skills sector including research for Greater London Authority exploring adult learners experience of community-based and preparation for work provision and leading on the evaluation of the Level 4 Health and Social Care project (for Grwp Llandrillo Menai). Kathryn led on the evaluation of this Community Renewal Fund Project for a large further education college. The project aimed to build skills and capacity in the health and social care sector, with a specific focus on healthcare practitioners and domiciliary care workers. This included interviews with learners, lecturers and wider sector stakeholders.
