Delivering an in-depth performance review of a Restart employment programme contract

The client

An employability and skills provider, committed to supporting people back into work through the delivery of a range of contracts across England.

The challenge

Our client approached us to conduct a forensic analysis of their Restart operations to understand the drivers of inconsistent performance and to identify opportunities to drive continuous improvement.  

What we did

Our review entailed appraising the operating model, people, performance management and process components, providing the client with a holistic understanding of the causes of inefficienices, and recommendations to improve performance.  

 Using an established methodology, we delivered the following: 

  • An analysis of current performance, segmented by cohort. 

  • Interviews with key stakeholders to understand the issues. 

  • Observations of live operations to gain front-line insight.  

  • An analysis of existing performance improvement plans and recommendations, how well these have been implemented and any impact recorded. 

  • Benchmarking performance against other Restart providers.  

Findings and recommendation were provided in a format supporting implementation delivery.
