Recruitment is humbling…
We interviewed a graduate today with an incredible CV. They were personable, bright, articulate, could work anywhere and they want to work with a small bunch of BD folks at 50D. We’re delighted to be recruiting another round of frankly terrifyingly good graduates, building on the success of Will and Lucy last year. Check out their Blogs if you need evidence of their talent.
We’ve pivoted this year from being project to talent focused. More good people – at senior and entrant levels – is enabling us to do more good work with our clients. It’s broadened our skill set. It’s challenged us to think about how we support teams across different projects in different countries. And we’ve recruited a Head of Talent and Wellbeing to make it all work – I’m delighted that Matt Wells is now a part of the team.
This year we’ll have c30 people working at 50D, moving to a mostly employed model. This has helped foster a deeper sense of purpose, identity and culture. It has helped us to help our clients respond quickly to complex, large-scale deals. And it has enabled folks to balance work and life, with flexible working, with a bigger team to absorb the work. There’s still time for cycling, is what I’m getting at.
We’re expanding our Sheffield and London offices and opening a new office in Bristol, where we’ve got a hub of super-bright folks starting – trying to get the hybrid home/office model right that enables the right team dynamic to flourish, but maintains flexibility.
We’re supporting clients in the UK, Middle East, Canada and Australia. Our work now encompasses business development advisory; research and insight; solution design; bid management; and bid writing. Increasingly this is around helping to shape pipeline and bid strategies and then support on fulfilment, working with clients on a long-term strategic basis.
Better Growth, it’s not just a tagline.
